TRON, the blockchain-based decentralized platform founded by Justin Sun, and its TRC20 token has become the authorized digital currency of the country of Dominica.

Asides from the TRX, other TRC20-based tokens have been granted authorized digital currency and medium of exchange.

The government of Dominica may accept TRON for public service payments including tax payments when and where the necessary infrastructure for TRON is available. This also includes TRON being used for goods and services payments.

TRON would be available for exchange with the East Caribbean Dollar and rates would be determined by the market price.

The country of Dominica also selected TRON to develop and issue their very own Dominica Coin (DMC) and made TRON the national blockchain of the said country.

Here is the list of the TRC20 tokens granted by the government of Dominica for authorized digital currency and medium of exchange:

  • BTT (BitTorrent)
  • JST (JustToken)
  • NFT (APENFT)
  • USDD (Decentralized USD)
  • USDT (Tether)
  • TUSD (TrueUSD)

TRON is a blockchain-based decentralized platform founded by the former TRON CEO, Justin Sun in 2017 and it aims to create a free, global digital content entertainment system with distributed storage technology and allows easy and cost-effective sharing of digital content.

It has a native cryptocurrency called Tronix or TRX and the company is dedicated to building the infrastructure for a truly decentralized internet which they have added blockchain support to different fields such as DeFi, NFT, and GameFi.

This is one of the biggest news for TRON this year and having the status as an authorized digital currency for a country is always a good thing and this create more opportunities for TRON to expand to other countries.
