Everyone remembers the childhood story of Jack and the Beanstalk. A boy receives some magical beans that grow into a giant beanstalk which then leads him to riches. It’s 2018 so the time has come where we put magical beans on the blockchain! Well sort of. We’re talking about the Tron Super Representative Sesameseed. By voting for them, you will receive a token called SEED as a reward that can always be exchanged on a 1:1 ratio for TRX through some nifty magical script. On unofficial trading channels, the exchange rate for these magic SEEDS is 1:6! That mean you get 6 TRX for every Seed!

The Bean has Value

You’re probably thinking to yourself “What makes these seeds so valuable?”. Sesameseed created a program called the SEEDGerminator. This program allows developers or even community members to receive funding for any apps that they want to create on the Tron ecosystem. The developers can receive funding through TRX or from SEED, but SEED has a better exchange rate than TRX. Think of it like a combination of Venture Investing and Kickstarter. Guess who decides whether a project is approved or not for this program? I’ll give you a hint, it’s not a committee of rich people in nice suits. Still unsure? We the Tron community get to decide! That’s right, we decide whether we want that app on the Tron network. By planting our SEED tokens to fund the development, we get rewarded if the project is successful. If the project fails to fund, your seeds are returned back to your wallet.

Flourishing Seeds

The SEEDGerminator program has led to the successful development of Seedit, a platform to send tips in TRX and other tokens on social media. Try it out and send Beyoncé a couple of TRX using Seedit on Twitter. I can’t guarantee that she will DM you though.

The Tron community has also successfully funded Poppy, a project that is trying to create mass adoption of TRX by launching a Tron card using the Clover POS system. Any retailer using Clover will be able to instantly accept Tron as payment! Also, there are two projects in the active funding stage right now. One is a game called Eggies and the other is a decentralized exchange called TronWatch Market. Not to mention, the Sesameseed team has already stated that there are more projects in the pipeline for us to fund.

Big Bags Full of Seeds

Another magical property of the SEED token is that you don’t even have to invest them to receive rewards from the projects. Say what!? Sesameseed receives a percentage of the profits that an app that goes through their SeedGerminator program generates and from that, SEED holders receive 80%. A year from now when there are 40-50 successfully funded apps, that could represent some serious passive income. Margaritas on the beach anyone?
