As described on their document page:
Storage3 is an application for storage based on the decentralized storage protocol BTFS. Through Storage3, you can easily access BTFS’s powerful storage capacity and escrow your websites, applications, DApps, and other services on BTFS, without having to understand complicated technical concepts. With these services, you will bring brand-new web3 experience to users.
BitTorrent also mentioned that the BTFS Storage3 would soon support the storage of local content and the connection with the BitTorrent network protocol, as they aim to have more decentralized storage use cases for every user.
What is BTFS?
BitTorrent File System is the first scalable decentralized storage system. It is under the TRON network and it is one of the most important blockchains & DApp platforms in the world.

Users of BTFS can earn a TRON TRC-10 cryptographic token called BitTorrent Token (BTT) by running a BTFS node and it acts as a general cryptocurrency for transacting in computing resources shared between BitTorrent clients.
BitTorrent File System operates as both a file storage platform and a file transfer system, it also allows the efficient and secure transfer of files between nodes located in different regions.
What is BitTorrent?
BitTorrent is based in San Francisco and was founded on September 22, 2004, by Bram Cohen and Ashwin Navin. It is the largest decentralized P2P communications protocol for distributing data and large files over the Internet.
In 2018, BitTorrent was acquired by TRON Foundation and continued to provide support for their BitTorrent and uTorrent clients.
Last December 2021, BitTorrent announced that they were launching the first scalable heterogeneous cross-chain interoperability protocol called BitTorrent Chain and this has resulted in the BTT redenomination plan that led to the creation of the BTTC which was the new native token of the BitTorrent platform.
