Happy Halloween
We hope that you have a spooktacular Halloween. Enjoy the day, have fun, and stay safe. We can’t wait to incorporate some themed holiday content into Score Milk in the future.
Adjustments to White Paper
This week we wanted to share a change to the staking contract compared to what we had planned in the White Paper. One of the key strengths of the Score Milk team is the ability to adapt when new scenarios present themselves. The team is also very skilled at turning potential obstacles into opportunities. When the concept of Score Milk was originally envisioned, Tron energy costs were significantly less. Interacting with TRC20 tokens such as “MILK” were often a fraction of a TRX. TRC20 transactions are now significantly more expensive and the more complicated the contract the more energy is consumed.
Multiple staking options to reduce energy
The team talked about how we could simplify the contract. One way we did this was to have two different contracts related to staking MILK tokens. One for staking the MILK token directly and another for staking the MILK LP token generated by providing liquidity. Having two contracts reduces the complexity of the contract, having to do multiple calculations on the backend and ultimately reduces the cost of staking for the user.
Burn Function changes to reduce energy
We also talked about the burn mechanisms that were planned to be incorporated into the contract. We looked deep into the vision for the burn function. To improve functionality we will shift the burns from being contract oriented (which draws energy and user fees) to being manual. Such a shift will keep costs down for the user and ensure stability for the platform. The reasoning for the shift is very simple, we could not in good conscience release a contract that may end up costing the user several dollars in fees to implement a stake. Such a move would ultimately reduce the incentive for uses to stake their MILK as they would be starting from behind. Score Milk has a relatively small supply of only 100 million MILK tokens that can ever exist. This allows us great flexibility to incorporate impactful manual burns to meet the same objective that was in the white paper. More information on this will be released in the coming weeks.
GamePlay and energy
You may be wondering if interacting with the ScoreMilk gameplay draws Tron energy. The answer is no. The interaction with gameplay only utilizes bandwidth. MILK tokens accumulate on the backend and users have the opportunity to withdraw MILK tokens at will. At this time, each Tron wallet receives 1500 free bandwidth per day and freezing for bandwidth is very inexpensive.
