TRON and BitTorrent are collaborating for their newest project called the BitTorrent Chain (BTTC) and it is set to launch on October 30, 2021.

The newest project from the two industry giants would be the first scalable heterogeneous cross-chain interoperability protocol in the blockchain space.

What is BitTorrent Chain?

BitTorrent Chain is the newest project between TRON and BitTorrent Inc.

This project is known to be a Layer 2 scaling that aims to address all of TRON’s DeFi, NFT, and DApp cross-chain difficulties.

Asides from their Layer 2 scaling solution, this would be also a cross-chain solution that would begin connecting TRON, Ethereum, and Binance Smart Chain.

By connecting the three platforms, users would be able to take advantage of the BitTorrent Chain’s lower transaction fees with faster speed.

BitTorrent Chain features also full compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and it would allow EVM developers to hassle-free migration of their Ethereum-based applications fully onto BitTorrent Chain.

The project also mentioned that there will be a BitTorrent Chain Super Representative Election that would available with limited seats.

The elected BTTC Super Representatives would be able to earn BTT rewards and participate in the community governance.

What is BitTorrent?

BitTorrent is based in San Francisco and was founded on September 22, 2004, by Bram Cohen and Ashwin Navin. It is the largest decentralized P2P communications protocol for distributing data and large files over the Internet.

In 2018, BitTorrent was acquired by TRON Foundation and continued to provide support for their BitTorrent and uTorrent clients.

Furthermore, details about the BitTorrent Chain have been limited since their announcement. However, Justin Sun is scheduled tomorrow (Sept 9, 22:00 SGT) to do a live stream to provide the community more details about their newest project BitTorrent Chain.

BitTorrent Chain has all the resources and capabilities to make this a successful project between TRON and BitTorrent. Since their project announcement, it generated a lot of interest from the community and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for everyone once they launched the project this upcoming October.
